Sail across the lake with Jennie and the crew as they head for the Kitchen, where the giant kettle sings. This is the first cut, published as made.
Watch on YouTubeThe book and the promise
Jennie's galley turns the humblest ingredient into fast comfort food: baked potatoes, crispy snacks, breakfasts, soups, global flavors, and more. Every recipe follows the same plain promise - a potato, no more than three counted ingredients, and a microwave.
The book begins with Frank's true story of eating a green, sprouted potato and experiencing solanine poisoning. That close call became the Safety Canon: five rules checked before the crew cooks a single recipe.
Never cook a green or sprouted potato. When in doubt, throw it out - a potato costs pennies; you are worth more.
