Every website on the internet treats ads the same way: as a tax on your attention. Banner here. Popup there. Pre-roll video you can't skip for five seconds. The entire ad industry is built on the assumption that you don't want to see ads — so they have to trick you, interrupt you, or hold your content hostage until you comply.

What if that assumption is wrong?

Not wrong in the sense that people secretly love banner ads. Wrong in the sense that the problem was never advertising — it was that ads had nothing interesting to say and no interesting way to say it.

What if you could spend an hour with advertising the way you spend an hour on YouTube — because the content was genuinely worth your time?

👉 See the glowing orb on the right edge of your screen? That's the Experience Drawer. Click it. Everything in this article is live.

The Experience Drawer

I'm building something I've never seen before. A sliding panel on the edge of a webpage — a gentle, glowing orb that pulses with curiosity. It doesn't pop up. It doesn't block your reading. It waits. And when you're ready to be entertained, you pull it open.

Inside is not an ad. It's an experience.

The Experience Drawer has four zones, each powered by live AI. Every interaction is unique. Every visit generates fresh content. There is no bottom to this well — you could spend an hour in here and never see the same thing twice.

Zone 1 — The Bead

A sponsor's message rendered as a Glass Bead — a node in a knowledge graph with radiating connections. Tap a node, and AI generates a genuine insight about the intersection of that concept with the sponsor's domain. The ad is learning. You come away knowing something you didn't before.

Zone 2 — The Theater

A tiny AI stage that performs a unique three-act micro-experience about a sponsor — different every time, in your choice of genre. Satirical. Educational. Poetic. Tech Noir. Stand-Up Comedy. Each genre produces a completely different show. This is the YouTube of advertising — you watch because you're curious what it'll do next.

Zone 3 — The Pull

An honest slot machine. Pull the handle and AI generates a fresh take — a hot take, an insight, a roast, a prediction, an obituary for an obsolete technology. Every pull is a win. What did you win? A thought you didn't have before.

Zone 4 — The Shelf

Living patron tiles. Not static logos — AI-generated, real-time status updates about what each sponsor is actually doing right now. Tap to expand. Refresh for new AI-generated status. These are sponsors as living entities, not dead banners.

The Core Inversion

Traditional advertising is involuntary. You didn't ask for it. You can't control it. You're the product being sold to advertisers.

The Experience Drawer inverts every one of those assumptions:

Why AI Changes Everything

This only works because of AI. Traditional ads are static — a designer makes a banner, it gets served a million times, and everyone sees the same thing. The Experience Drawer generates content on every interaction. Pull the handle? Fresh AI take. Watch the Theater? Fresh AI performance. Tap a Bead node? Fresh AI insight.

This means the content surface is effectively infinite. There's no creative fatigue. No ad blindness. No "I've seen this already." Every visit is new.

The Product Vision: AdBead

Right now, the Experience Drawer lives on this page as a proof of concept. But the architecture is designed to be embeddable. The long-term vision is AdBead — a drop-in JavaScript widget that any website can embed.

I'm betting that the future of advertising is a canvas for experience, not a tax on attention.
